ReConnex Grand Opening Introduces a New Kind of Tech Repair to Charlotte
A Grand Opening to Remember
June 19th marked a milestone for our team at ReConnex. We officially opened our doors at North Pointe Plaza (5430 North Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28213)—just to the left of Family Dollar—and welcomed our neighbors, partners, and supporters into a space built with purpose.
ReConnex isn’t just a repair shop. We’re a worker-owned tech cooperative built on a mission to make quality device repair more affordable, more accessible, and more community-driven. So when we cut the ribbon, it felt like more than just a business launch—it felt like the beginning of something bigger for Charlotte.
Good People, Good Food, and Good Vibes
We were grateful to be joined by Charlotte City Councilwoman LaWana Mayfield, who helped us mark the moment and shared a few words about the importance of tech access in our communities. Henry Rock, founder of City Startup Labs, also spoke—he's played a big role in our journey and reminded everyone how this work is deeply tied to economic opportunity and second chances.
Some of our own team members spoke too, and let’s just say... there weren’t many dry eyes. Each person shared a bit about what ReConnex means to them—whether it’s a fresh start, a path to ownership, or simply the chance to give back. Their stories grounded the celebration in something real and powerful.
Local Flavor and Family Fun
We couldn’t have asked for a better crew of local vendors and small businesses to help us celebrate. The PixelPlay game truck kept the kids entertained (and let’s be honest, a few adults too). Mama’s Kitchen came through with mouthwatering plates, and Good Portions Italian Ice helped everyone cool down with some of the best frozen treats in town.
It felt more like a block party than a business opening—and that’s exactly the kind of energy we wanted. Community first, always.
What’s Next?
Now that we’re open, we’re here to stay—and we’re ready to serve. Whether your phone’s battery is on its last leg, your laptop won’t start, or your tablet needs some TLC, you’ll find reliable repairs and friendly faces at ReConnex.
Stop by and say hi. We’re right here in North Pointe Plaza, proud to be part of the neighborhood and excited for what’s ahead.
Here’s to more connection, more access, and more community-powered tech in Charlotte.
